Okehampton Castle Guidebook

This guidebook combines specially commissioned reconstruction drawings, atmospheric site photography and an engaging and comprehensive text to tell the story of Okehampton Castle. It introduces some of the key owners in the castle’s colourful history, including Baldwin of Meulles, a knight of William the Conqueror, who built the first castle here in the 1070s or 1080s; Hugh Courtenay II, who carried out extensive building works in the early 14th century; and Henry Courtenay, who was executed for plotting against Henry VIII.
