Self-Guided Sunset Tour at Portchester Castle

Overview
Join us at Portchester Castle for our self-guided sunset tour. You’ll have access to the roof where you’ll be able to experience panoramic views across Hampshire and Sussex, before watching the sunset over Portsmouth Harbour.
You’ll have the opportunity to explore the 12th century Norman Keep after we close to the public, and picnic on the grass of the Inner Bailey, surrounded by the hauntingly beautiful gothic architecture of Richard II’s royal palace.
We encourage visitors to bring a torch and a picnic with them.
Please be aware the castle grounds are quite dark at night with uneven ground. We ask all visitors to be cautious.
The toilet facilities are off-site, please be aware of this during your visit.
